Last week we were set our first 48 hour video project. It was quick paced and at times stressful but I would like to say the Ruth, Viktoria and myself handled the situation quite well...
The task itself was to create a proposal for a short package in our groups. Each final film was to be 60 to 120 seconds long. It should contain at least one interview and some element of graphics. It was to be quite a ‘soft’ news story – for instance, the warm weather – but it was to be a news story.
Ours was not perfect by any means, for one of our sections, "I'm Angela", we couldn't get a single interview from a girl who wanted to be seen on film. Therefore that section is fairly boring as it's a voice over an image. We also had some problems with the voice over's recorded by myself, you can hear fault in it.
However, it does need to be remembered that this was our first real attempt at the whole thing. None of my group had any real experience in the editing department, and we worked the story up all on our own. We gave it our best shot, and considering we only had two full days to complete this task.
Here is a link of the video, in final format, from Viktoria's YouTube channel:
We Know what we need to improve on for next time, and for now, this piece wasn't heavily criticised and we received some constructive feedback and will apply it to our next video project.
