BEING IN CAMBS, UNIVERSITY FEEDBACK AND GETTING EXCITED FOR SUMMER

It’s been a minute since I published a personal post but with my work placement and other uni-based scenarios I just haven’t had the time to sit and draft one.

Honestly. There isn’t much to update you with. I've been back in Cambridgeshire a lot recently, due to my placement. Which means I got to spend more time with my Mum, my family, my friends and my kittens! A few nights out in the townhouse and many coffee dates later I'm finally back in Essex full time and my regular system can resume.

I’m half way through my second term, which means I’m half way through my first university year. Already half way seems ridiculous but actually believable. By June 8th I’ll be done, that’s with exams, with the year and most importantly done with the 30-mile drive onto campus I do every day that I have a lecture. How exciting!
With the end of the year basically just around the corner, that means the summer ball is only months away too. It’s like a second prom (sort of, maybe slightly less expensive). Me and my friend Ruth have been looking at dresses for what feels like forever, but I think I’ve finally found the one, or maybe two… Oh I can’t decide!
After the ball, It’s summer. That means 17 weeks of doing whatever I choose too. I've been loving this nice weather we've been having, and It's making me want those summer holidays to come even faster! I’m really hoping I get to go away with Em, to do something sunny and exciting for a few days. I also am travelling to the states to spend 10 days with my family there. I’ll be getting to meet my grandad’s new wife for the first time, along with two cousins who I’ve never had the chance of meeting, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve already got my ‘holiday outfits’ in a basket ready for purchase. 10 days under the South Carolina sun is exactly what I need after a stressful year.
I hope this isn’t everything I get to do with all my time off, I can’t be working in the airport and not jetting off somewhere exciting, because that’s hardly fair is it? Me and my university friends have been discussing potentially going to Dublin late September, to celebrate my 20th and Ruth’s 21st birthdays. Hopefully this will happen, and it will be the final adventure I go on before returning to University for my second year…
However, as exciting as summer sounds, I still have 14 weeks of university left (Yes 4 of those are my Easter break). So that means 14 deadlines, 3 tests and 2 essays’ to have completed before then. As well as 2 final year exams. No pressure then!
Now it's not all negative, I have had some feedback from first term and it’s safe to say my positivity on passing first year has defiantly increased. On my first written essay I received a 2:1 (or a B to anyone who doesn’t understand these university terms, which I did NOT until I received this feedback), and my first portfolio submission received 73%, which is safe to say I’m fairly happy with both of these grades.
Sadly, this is all I really have to report on for now. So unfortunately, until something more exciting happens in my life, I’ll stick to more Journalism based blogs.
