Last week, us brits had the pleasure of being introduced to the newest, and youngest, member of the royal family. However, the new prince has been hit with controversy from the first minute.

We all know that Meghan Markle really shook up the royals when her and Harry first announced their relationship and since the beginning there has been story after story about why she’s a bad influence on the family. But now she’s brought another prince into the palace, she won’t be going anywhere.

Now so far in her relationship with the prince, Meghan has caused quite the stir by not following the royal traditions, and Baby Archie is no exception.

Firstly, Archie is not a royal name. Now there has been no official statement from the queen herself, however it’s not likely that she’s overly fond of this break in tradition.

One factor to remember is that Archie, is the first multiracial heir to our countries thrown. This means that just by being born, this little boy has already changed our history for the better. So, although he is already breaking traditions, it’s not all necessary for the wrong reasons.

Meghan’s previous incidents have not gone down in Buckingham particularly well. Wearing sleeveless dresses to events and Harry deciding to wear his wedding band once they were married are just a couple of examples of where Meghan has not allowed the royal codes to control her. However, arguably, not naming her prince son after a royal tradition probably oversteps the mark.

Let’s not forget that this child was also born at home, and not in St. Mary’s hospital, like all of his royal cousins, and his first introduction to the world was not outside the hospital doors. Completely the opposite to how all three of Williams beautiful children were announce to our world.

It just seems like at every opportunity, Meghan is determined no not conform to the royal standards. But is this the change that our royalist society needs?

For years and years, we as a society have accepted these Royal codes of conduct as the only rule. But why? Ms Markle is the first woman to come into our royal family who has broken every tradition imaginable.

If you had asked anyone, 5 years ago, who Harry would be marrying, any British person would have described a beautiful, socialite who had close connections to the royals. Someone particularly like Kate. However, here we are in 2019 with Prince Harry, married to an American, divorced, actress who has a bad family connection and certainly had no previous relation to the queen or company.

Harry’s choice in wife came as a shock to the whole country, but there was no official statement from the Windsor’s about their true feelings on the situation. It’s believed it’d have likely been a conflicting issue, between tradition and Harry’s happiness.

Royalists all over will have been vocal on their opinions on all of Meghan’s decisions, from her father not attending the wedding to naming their first child a non-royal name. But not once has the queen every shown any sign of disbelief towards the newlyweds. All the drama around the situation has come from the tabloids.

With a new baby here, it’s likely we won’t see much of Harry or Meghan for a few weeks, so until then we will just assume that the royals are full of love for their newest family member. Archie, no matter what he’s called, is a royal by blood and has a wonderful future already laid out for him as a prince, and an heir to the throne.
