They say you always remember your first Job, for me, mine was more than that.

My first job was a simple barista job, in my local Starbucks. little did I know that I'd be there two and a half years later, working with 5 of my closest friends. Surrounding myself with coolest, funniest, coffee loving weirdo's who made my part-time job into something I would treasure for the rest of my life (as corny as that sounds)

Coffee and Complications

Don't get me wrong, making a latte was hardly challenging. But the job wasn't just coffee. It wasn't always fun and games. Customers were rude, the hours could be long (especially with a hangover) and at times the management could be questionable. But I wouldn't have changed a single minute of it because the memories made there, outweigh all of the bad.

My Last Day

When my last day came around, I thought I'd be filled with joy, I never had to make a cup of coffee for a snotty commuter again. However this was not the case. I was actually heartbroken. In truth, Starbucks was all I'd ever know in the working world. I never imagined 6 people could bond so much over a white paper cup and two espresso shots, but that's where I met my best friends. It's where I regretted turning up to, but hated to leave each night. It's where an 18 year old, and a 27 year old could work a 9 hour shift, get glam in the office and be out dancing to the spice girls together on a Saturday night. It's where you bond with customers over films or what country's they're from. It was work, but it was worth it.

Celebrations

Don't bawl, Bounce

I was sad, it was my last day, I was never going to work with my favourite people ever again. I wanted to celebrate my time there but in a tasteful way. Heading to the Herewood for 2 for 1 cocktails was one option, or going to a trampoline park to bounce around and act like children was another. Clearly the choice was obvious. So we jumped, ran and flipped until we could barely breathe. It was the perfect way to end my time there. I couldn't have spent the last few years with better people, in a better job.
